Bilingual In-Home Assistant Services was organized by two refugee women from Former USSR as a response to the growing need for home care and personal care services among the Limited English Speaking seniors and persons with disabilities in 2000. Since then, the agency has grown to provide nursing, respite, and advanced care to Missouri seniors regardless of the language spoken or country of origin. Today, the agency serves over 400 seniors statewide and has three offices, providing numerous hours of assistance to American, Arabic, Albanian, Bosnian, Chinese, Korean, Russian, Ukrainian, Vietnamese, and other older adults. We aim to match the services by cultural and linguistic criteria, so that the seniors and persons with disabilities continue to enjoy home cooking, familiar language, and culturally appropriate care.
